ArtyFakts: The Vital Spark

The Vital Spark is a Clyde puffer, one of the steamboats that carried cargo throughout the West of Scotland. She is famous as a character in Neil Munro’s stories about the besotted captain of the Vital SparkPara Handy. Hence the text.

I first saw the vital Spark in Inveraray on March 14, 2010, on the way to live in Campbeltown. That’s when I took the photo. Pity about the floating gin palace moored next to her. You can read my review of the Collected Stories here.
