TED Talks: Elyn Saks on schizophrenia from the inside

A weekly post featuring talks by innovative thinkers, sponsored by TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design). This is what the internet was made for – to allow challenging ideas to escape from their academic ghettoes and hang out in a place where they can talk to each other.

Elyn Saks is a Professor of Law, Psychology, and Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California Gould Law School and an expert in mental health law. Here she talks about her lifelong schizophrenia and how she managed to build a good life and a successful career in spite of it. People with mental illness want the same thing as everyone else – “to work and to love.”
