Braindead/Dead Alive (1992)

Yes, I know it’s not Friday yet. Friday is early this week. Thought you might like something to chill out with, while you’re waiting for the End of the World.

Before that nice Peter Jackson was making family-friendly movies about hobbits, he was grossing us out with comedic splatterfests. Braindead (Dead Alive in N. America) is his second film, the best and funniest zombie movie I’ve ever seen.

When Lionel Cosgrove’s terrifyingly possessive mum becomes a zombie, he tries to hide the fact, like any good son would do in 1950s New Zealand. But family secrets are hard to keep and things get out of hand…

Highly recommended.
