Jumping Dog Schlick (1908), by Franz Marc, a German Expressionist painter. Schlick is jumping for the joy of movement and smiling while he’s doing it.
Dynamism of a Dog on a Leash (1912), by Giacomo Balla, a Futurist. This dachshund is Going Places, as is its owner, and getting there by the shortest route. Interesting to see how the two styles express themselves in their subjects.
